Hasani Bakiri

Hasani was born in Muhuwesi, near Nakapanya in 1976. He is a relative of Saidi Chilamboni, the founder of Tinga Tinga Cooperative. He left his native village in south Tanzania for the commercial city Dar es Salaam in 1998. He then started to paint under guidance of Rashidi Chilamboni and Saidi Niunde.

Among his popular designs are the colorful sea fishes on the dark blue background.
